Why renovate a house you were planning to sell? UncleJhonn had someone else in mind for the keys: his mother, who arrives thinking she is simply dropping off the kids.

That surprise anchors "I Transformed a House and Gave It to My Mom," his September makeover vlog, which is adding around 27,000 views a day, more than six times its usual pace. A separate November upload, "I gave my mom a house for her birthday… it's been 35 years in the making…", has also passed a million views.

The longer video gives the gift its backstory. UncleJhonn sets himself ten days to remake his former home, starting with an overgrown front walkway and flower beds. He excavates, lays gravel and stone pavers, and repaints the red double doors black rather than replacing them. In the comments, that change of color gets its own appreciative mentions.

His wife, Raven, helps with the backyard, where old swings make way for a bench swing and a central fire pit. He builds a wooden dining table for the patio, too. The video includes a sponsored shaving segment between the renovation tasks.

There is another reason this particular property matters. Standing on the patio, UncleJhonn recalls that it was the spot where he got the idea to film his first video. A home he once expected to sell is also where his work as a creator began.

Viewers keep returning to his mother's arrival and her embrace with the couple. When she learns why the house has been transformed, his explanation is brief: "It's yours, Ma."
