Jennifer Lawrence's childhood plan: doctor or interior designer
A fast-starting Call Her Daddy clip finds Lawrence recalling an adolescence spent working around adults rather than growing up alongside other teenagers.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 60,705 views a day, 6.6 times a normal first day on this channel (9,261).
Jennifer on what she was like growing up
Was acting always the dream? Not according to Jennifer Lawrence, who tells Alex Cooper that it never really crossed her mind as a child. The jobs she could picture were doctor and interior designer, largely because those were jobs she knew existed.
Naturally, she finds a way to combine them: a doctor who can also decorate your house.
The exchange comes in Call Her Daddy's Short "Jennifer on what she was like growing up," which has drawn about 46,000 views in its first 14 hours, already several times the channel's usual full-day audience for Shorts. Another clip, "And you paid me no mind," has also had an unusually strong start.
Lawrence describes her teenage years as more complicated than a straightforward early pursuit of stardom. She left Kentucky and school to work at fourteen, she says, so she wasn't spending time around other kids. Being comfortable with adults did not necessarily mean the feeling was mutual: "And I definitely don't think anybody was like, she's mature."
Looking back, though, she can spot a few theatrical clues. Even before acting became a career possibility, she remembers playing characters when ringing doorbells.
