Nolan's Odyssey, Suno and Paramount's future share Bloomberg Live's Screentime stage
Donna Langley, Gerry Cardinale and Mikey Shulman all spoke at the Los Angeles event, though the crowd filling the channel this weekend seems to be looking elsewhere.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 225,322 views a day, 11 times a normal day (20,837).
Bloomberg Screentime 2026 took over the channel on October 1. Bloomberg's Hollywood gathering in Los Angeles shares its name with Lucas Shaw's newsletter on the business of entertainment, and Shaw led most of the conversations Bloomberg Live posted that day.
The program covered the whole entertainment business in one afternoon. NBCUniversal's Donna Langley talked film, television and streaming, and her video's tags read like a release calendar: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day, Minions and Shrek. RedBird Capital's Gerry Cardinale took on investing in sports and media, and on what a Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery combination could look like. Suno co-founder Mikey Shulman, joined by Ashley Carman, discussed AI tools for making music, copyright disputes and new licensing models. Max Chafkin and Stacey Vanek Smith previewed Bloomberg's podcast slate, and the full afternoon stream also included Matt Belloni and Steven Bartlett.
The channel as a whole had a remarkable day, with about ten times its usual daily views and around a thousand new subscribers. The Screentime sessions do not account for that. Each of them is still below 6,000 views. Conan O'Brien's podcast conversation gave the channel a very unusual first day, as we reported here. Could he still be the one bringing everybody in?
Of the Screentime talks, Langley's is the one that has traveled furthest so far.
