Dictator Geisha: Black Rifle Coffee brings a rare Guatemalan bean home

The one new upload follows the beans from Santa Rosa to the company's roasting plant in Manchester, Tennessee, with a suppressed MP5SD and a sportbike along for the ride.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

One upload, one coffee. Black Rifle Coffee Company's only new video, "We Secured The Dictator Geisha," is a commercial in the shape of a short action film. The description says the crew went to Santa Rosa, Guatemala, for a Geisha bean it bills as among the rarest on earth, then roasted it in Manchester, Tennessee. Along the way there is full-auto fire from a suppressed MP5SD, high-speed street runs on a sportbike and an espresso pulled through a bottomless portafilter.

Geisha (sometimes spelled Gesha) is a real and famously pricey coffee variety, so the joke in the name rests on something true. The comments are mostly about the ad itself: several viewers call it the best coffee commercial they have seen, others want to know the song, and one sharp-eyed viewer argues over which submachine guns are on screen. A few take the name literally and ask what geishas have to do with Guatemala.

The channel's longer films are still doing quiet, steady work. "The Brutal 60-Hour Race to Find the Army's Best Ranger," posted in July, follows two-man teams at Fort Benning through flintlock shooting, tomahawk throws and Black Hawk helocasts, and it has passed 600,000 views. Close behind sits a talk with Brad Colbert, the real "Iceman" of Generation Kill, sitting down with Andy Stumpf.

The channel as a whole is drawing more views a day than usual, though its subscriber count held steady. Among similar military and weapons channels, TFB TV and Cold Steel are having the liveliest weeks, while Military Arms Channel is running quieter than its norm.
