M5 Ultra against two DGX Sparks, and the number Alex Ziskind wants you to see
His Mac-versus-Nvidia showdown passed 700,000 views in six days, and Alex pinned a correction that makes the Sparks look even better for teams.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
M5 Ultra vs 2 DGX Sparks… The Number You're Not Looking At
Alex Ziskind put Apple's M5 Ultra up against a pair of Nvidia DGX Sparks, the small desktop AI machines, and asked which one really serves a team running local language models. The description hints at the twist: the Ultra needs something from its owner before it pulls ahead. It drew more than 350,000 views on its first day and is past 700,000 now, far ahead of anything else on the channel.
The comment section is where it gets interesting. Alex himself pinned a correction after a viewer noticed that his multi-user charts counted idle time between prompts. Recounted, the Sparks look stronger for a group of eight than the video first showed. Other viewers point to a fresh release of omlx, a Mac inference tool, that they say changes the picture for concurrent users. Plenty also admit they will never buy either machine and watch anyway, out of curiosity.
The week's other uploads were quieter. Perplexity Computer was handed six months of sample bank statements and internet bills to audit, with the private files processed on his Mac. And a fresh M5 Ultra video went up just as the week closed. Behind them, last month's M6 Mac mini test and an eight-card RTX Pro 6000 build keep finding viewers.
Daily views ran below his usual pace, with about 4,000 new subscribers. Even so, among similar tech channels nobody added more views this week.

What viewers say
Not a developer and also not serving a small team - not even rich enough to afford a single spark. But I'm still watching - because I'm curious and want to learn new things.
