Robbie James takes the city route to the Paris Motor Show, using the journey to introduce an electric hatchback designed in Milan for European roads. "Driving the new AION UT to the Paris Motor Show" was Autocar's most-watched new upload in a five-video week.

This is a promotional review for GAC. Its most tangible subject is interior packaging: James examines rear legroom, boot space and the large central touchscreen before arriving at the manufacturer's stand. The emphasis is less on the exotic machinery familiar from Autocar's archive and more on what a compact electric car can fit inside its footprint.

A separate show-floor interview with GAC's Europe Regional Center President, Ma Haiyang, extends the European-market theme. Elsewhere, the week brought a BMW 3 Series explainer, a BMW M3 CS clip and a glimpse of Aston Martin's Valhalla Spider.

The AION drive and the two BMW uploads are also the channel's busiest videos by daily views. Across the whole channel, the week added around 112,000 views, while subscribers remained unchanged. Daily viewing is currently well below its usual level.

It was a modest week among the nearby motoring channels, with Jim's Automotive Machine Shop drawing a particularly substantial weekly audience and Car and Driver enjoying above-usual daily viewing. For Autocar, the new material's centre of gravity was Paris: a drive through the capital followed by questions at the show stand.
