The most-watched of Australia Zoo's nine uploads this week has reached about 307,000 views. Its six-croc afternoon starts in Steve's triple ponds, with Chandler Powell assisting and a ground-level camera giving viewers a close look at the animals' speed. In the comments, viewers single out how different Robert's point-of-view footage feels from the regular camera angle.
Bosco launches from the water onto the grass; Occy, named after surfer Mark Occhilupo, supplies a lesson in crocodile agility. Then comes Acco, the zoo's largest crocodile. Archive footage shows Steve capturing him years earlier in northern Queensland before the video returns to Robert drawing him out for a feed. Several viewers describe their own passage from watching Steve after school to watching Robert after work.
Crocodiles dominate the channel's momentum, too. The special is its busiest upload by daily views, followed by the reptile crew learning Steve's capture techniques and Chandler's behind-the-scenes Crocoseum tour. Elsewhere, Bindi and Chandler mark World Lemur Day, Keeper Tyler explores African animals' skin textures, and a pumpkin-carving contest gives Chandler a rather unusual fellow judge: Occa the cockatoo.
The channel added subscribers this week, with most of its month-long subscriber gain arriving in these seven days, although daily viewing is currently around half its usual level. Among nearby animal channels, The Reptile Zoo and Alveus Sanctuary drew larger weekly audiences, while Crufts had a quieter week. Australia Zoo's particular thread is the practical handover: Robert and Toby teaching the reptile crew techniques Steve developed, with young saltwater crocodile Frankie getting a measurement check along the way.
