October 13, leaked in advance: AppleTrack maps out Apple's next event

What is Apple supposedly bringing out on October 13? AppleTrack's answer, posted on October 1, runs to about thirteen minutes and five products: an OLED iPad mini, a refreshed Apple TV 4K, a HomePod mini 2, the long-rumored HomePad home hub and an OLED MacBook Pro. The date itself is a rumor, and the video says so. It has since drawn more than 870,000 views, with well over a third of them arriving on its first day.

The comment section is busy, and not quietly. The most liked reply points out that the channel has been promising an exciting Apple TV for two years, and a long thread argues over whether a box that sits on a shelf needs a new look at all. Others debate which chip it deserves, and a sizable group says an iPad mini without a 120Hz display is a dealbreaker. One viewer adds that the only truly accidental Apple leak was the iPhone 4 prototype left in a bar.

The four shorts that followed each slice off one piece of that rundown, the MacBook Pro, the iPad mini, the HomePad and an iPhone 18 Pro charger, and the newest ones are picking up views about as fast as the main video does now.

The channel as a whole is running a little below its usual pace, with about 1,000 new subscribers. Among similar tech channels, SAMTIME and Alex Ziskind had the busiest weeks, while fpt. and Tyler Stalman were quieter. AppleTrack sits mid-table on both counts, and the event in its title is still ahead.

What viewers say

  • Why is it a big deal if the Apple TV looks the same? It’s not something you look at. It sits on a shelf out of the way. It doesn’t need a physical redesign

  • Not giving the iPad mini 120hz pro motion is going to put me off from buying one entirely
