Ten years of Pixel, and an iPhone 18 Pro verdict that 'isn't a contest'
Damien Wilde's comparison of the two new flagships passed 100,000 views, while the October Pixel update arrived without the bigger QPR1 release owners were waiting for.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
iPhone 18 Pro vs. Pixel 11 Pro isn't a contest.
Is the Pixel 11 Pro worth leaving an iPhone for? 9to5Google spent the week circling that question from every side, and the comparison that asked it most directly, "iPhone 18 Pro vs. Pixel 11 Pro isn't a contest.", became the most watched of its five uploads, past 100,000 views. The video casts both phones as careful, iterative updates and finds the real difference in the cameras, from sensor size to an f/1.4 aperture, before weighing Apple's A20 against Google's Tensor G6.
The comments read like a support group for switchers in both directions. Some viewers left iPhones after a decade and more and say they have no regrets. Others went the other way, tired of Pixel performance. One recurring complaint is that the new camera looks stay locked to the newest phones instead of reaching older Pixels by update. And plenty of people noticed the title's typo before it was fixed.
Around it, the channel kept its Pixel focus. A 45-day review of the Pixel 11 Pro is still drawing the most steady interest among the week's longer pieces. "10 years of Pixel: The good, the bad, and the ugly." goes back to the original 2016 phone, by way of the much-loved 3a and 4a. Ben Schoon filled in for Damien on the Pixelated podcast. The newest upload, the October update bulletin, is a mixed one for owners: some bug fixes, and the bigger QPR1 release still on hold. It is already the channel's fastest mover.
Overall the channel ran at about half its usual daily pace and added around a thousand subscribers. Among the tech review channels near its size, only İncelemedeyim and HotshotTek gathered more views over the week. Ten days on, a Samsung video, "One UI 9 is absolute fire.", is still pulling in steady views on a channel named for Google.

@Pixel_Pirate_965See it on YouTubeI had an iPhone for over 15 years and I just switched from my iPhone 16 Pro Max to the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL. I love it. I have zero buyers remorse.
@tarayates8898See it on YouTubeOne thing that I prefer the pixel for, it is a much more comfortable phone to hold (XL vs Pro Max)

I've been thinking long and hard about Pixel 11Pro or Iphone 18 pro. I even had the Pixel right here in my hands. But then my one functional brain cell kicked in and realized what a waste of money that is and I'll keep using last years phone for now.
@DerNesorSee it on YouTubeI like my Pixel 11 Pro XL, I would never move to an iPhone.
@ForeverHumble101See it on YouTubeI just recently within the last few days picked myself up a pixel 11 pro over from my iPhone 17 pro. And I have been absolutely loving the dictation compared to iPhone. They're just not comparable at all. iPhone dictation never stood a chance!
