Ben Schmanke trades leaf blowers for five Ryobi fans and 27 balls
His follow-up to a smaller blower test, posted two days earlier, now has more views than any of his recent phone comparisons.
Why this story? The video is running at 45,175 views a day, 7.7 times its usual pace (5,879).
27 Balls vs 5 RYOBI Fans
Ben Schmanke built AuthenTech on phones: zoom tests, portrait tricks, flagship cameras side by side. The video moving fastest on his channel right now has none of that. It is "27 Balls vs 5 RYOBI Fans," a sequel that raises the count in both directions.
The first round went up on September 29 as "16 Balls vs 3 RYOBI Blowers," with a basketball emoji in the title. Two days later came the bigger version: more balls, more tools, and fans in place of blowers. It had a modest first day, then picked up pace a week in, and it is now past 85,000 views. That is several times what his late-September iPhone, Galaxy and Pixel comparisons have gathered so far.
The comment section is tiny, just a couple of lines. One viewer jokes about being blown away by the price.
The timing stands out because the channel as a whole is running below its usual daily pace, and so are most of the tech channels near its size. Inside that slower stretch, Schmanke's garage-tool experiments are doing the work. The same week also brought "$5 Scissors vs $59 Power Cutter," which is ahead of the phone tests too. For a reviewer who usually lives by camera samples, a pile of balls and some Ryobi fans is a new kind of hit.
