Zip Tie Tuning gives its work truck an overkill stereo
Custom speaker mounts, a fabricated amp rack and a troublesome head unit turn the F-150 into an extensive audio project.

- 2:13A scan of the factory speaker provides the basis for custom-designed mounting adapters.
- 12:55A wooden amplifier rack gets cable-routing holes and a protective truck-bedliner finish.
- 18:25Andy uses a laser bar across the headrests to align the A-pillar tweeters.
- 25:14Alex breaks down the equipment cost and identifies places to save on a less expensive build.
- 28:18Microphone measurements guide the tuning before the road test exposes a problem with the head unit's output.
Zip Tie Tuning's Alex and Andy strip the doors of their Ford F-150, scan a factory speaker and design replacement mounts. A workhorse can apparently keep its job while acquiring some fairly extravagant listening equipment.
"The Best Sounding Work Truck" was the most watched of the channel's two uploads this week, reaching roughly 577,000 views. The build is much more than a speaker swap: sound-deadening material goes into the doors, a wooden amplifier rack gets cable-routing holes and a bedliner finish, and Andy uses a laser bar to align the A-pillar tweeters.
The equipment adds up to more than $5,000, although Alex also explains where a cheaper build could save money. The video includes a sponsored flashlight segment and speakers supplied by BLAM.
Getting everything installed isn't quite the finish line. During tuning, Alex calls the truck the most difficult car he has ever tuned. He and Andy find that the new head unit's analog output compromises the sound, then switch to a separate digital-to-analog converter for the road test. Andy's verdict is wonderfully economical: "I didn't say much, but my face says it all."
Viewers have practical follow-ups: how to locate rattles, what different audio budgets would buy, and when the Mercedes might get its stereo turn. Others pick out the amp rack and the pair's reactions during the listening session.
"The Coolest Toyota at SEMA" supplied the week's other upload. It is already attracting daily viewing close to the truck build, while the older "Why Can't Manufacturers Do This?" keeps Andy's M3 upgrades in circulation.
Across the channel, daily viewing is close to its usual level, and subscribers increased over the week. Its weekly views sit in the upper part of this nearby motoring group, with Garbage Time having a particularly busy spell. For Zip Tie Tuning, car audio remains a substantial draw alongside the mechanical projects.
