Sarah Stern's case, told through a friend's movie idea, on Unseen
No new episode went up in seven days, and a four-month-old Jersey Shore case is the one viewers keep finding.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Teen Killer Has No Idea His Best Friend Betrayed Him
"Teen Killer Has No Idea His Best Friend Betrayed Him" is Unseen's account of the death of 19-year-old Sarah Stern, whose car was found empty on a bridge in Neptune City, New Jersey, in December 2016. The case turned when an old classmate, an aspiring filmmaker living far from the Jersey Shore, told investigators about a movie idea his best friend had shared with him. Alexandre Gendron directed, wrote and edited the episode, and Will Akana, the channel's usual narrator, voices it.
It went up about four months ago and is still the channel's busiest video. Unseen posted nothing new over the past seven days, yet daily views are running well above their usual level, adding up to roughly 620,000 for the week.
Two other cases keep it company. One is a six-week-old episode about Alexis Somers and the death of her mother, Michele, in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The other is "The Case of Denise Lee," about a Florida woman who disguised her 911 call as a conversation with her abductor. That episode is now close to 900,000 views.
Among true crime channels of a similar size, Matthew Cox | Inside True Crime is having by far the biggest week, with FilmRise True Crime and Beyond Evil also busy, while Catching Killers is close to its normal pace. Unseen sits in the middle of that group, doing it entirely with episodes from its back catalog.
