Penalty shootout chaos, then two 86+ packs: Chris and Matt's first FUT Champs rewards

Episode eight of the brothers' Bros RTG closes out their first Champs run, and long-time viewers say this is the version of the channel they wanted to see.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 54,912 views a day, 11 times a normal first day on this channel (4,864).

Eight episodes in, Chris and Matt finally got paid. "OUR FIRST FUT CHAMPS REWARDS ARE FINALLY HERE!! (FC 27 BROS RTG #8)" passed 29,000 views in its first nine hours, on a channel where a new video usually ends its whole first day below 5,000.

The episode picks up where the last one stopped: four FUT Champs games still to play. Matt starts, Chris takes over, and around the eleven-minute mark comes what the chapters call "Penalty Shootout Chaos!" Then the brothers need two more results to reach their target, play one final game and open the haul, including a pair of 86+ packs. The last chapter asks whether they picked the wrong rewards.

The comments are about the brothers more than the cards. Viewers keep returning to Chris's laugh, the one that seems to come out exactly when he would rather be shouting. One sums up the pair's habits: Matt gives the ball away at the back, Chris rushes his shots up front. Another credits Matt with a call to shift left at the end of the shootout, then a saved penalty in his next game.

The longest-serving viewers add something else. Several say they have watched for eight or ten years and remember the days when the brothers played against each other, and they like seeing them on the same team now. Others are glad the series shows full matches, not only pack openings. The brothers' Bros RTG is a co-op Road to Glory, one squad built together, and on this evidence the arguments along the way are part of the appeal.
