Winnipeg supplied the late twist to a TSN week already carrying a Formula 1 championship celebration. Four goals down late in the third period against Montreal, the Jets recovered to win in overtime and end a nine-game losing streak. Kyle Connor scored twice; Dylan Samberg finished the job.
TSN gave that escape two treatments: game highlights and a conversation between hockey analyst Cameron Gaunce and Jay Onrait. Both are among the channel's uploads drawing the most views per day right now, alongside "Oilers drop first road game this season." The hockey desk has plenty to pick over.
The week's most-watched new upload, though, remains "F1 Extended Highlights: Mexico City Grand Prix," with roughly 303,000 views. Kimi Antonelli needed only ninth or better to secure the championship, but took third behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. His pass on Charles Leclerc supplied the podium position; the finish made him Formula 1's youngest world champion. Viewers keep returning to the image of Hamilton and Verstappen lifting him, while others ask for more coverage of Liam Lawson's drive.
Across a busy slate of uploads, TSN added about a thousand subscribers over the week. Its daily viewing is currently below its usual level, even as the new hockey packages gather attention. Nearby sports outlets have livelier daily viewing too, with SPORTSNET and NFL on ESPN both running above their normal pace.
Away from the highlights, OverDrive returned with Hayes, Noodles and the O-Dog, while The Quiz put Nikita Kucherov's next destination and Alex Ovechkin's goal total before the hockey panel. Winnipeg supplied the answer nobody needed a panel to debate: that game wasn't over.
