РОСІЙСЬКІ ПЕРСОНАЖІ на Геловіні у США

A military-style costume and a traditional-style headdress became the focus of a Ukrainian news report on Halloween celebrations at the White House, where President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump handed sweets to visiting children.

Ukraine's Television News Service (TSN) shows a boy approaching the presidential couple in a cap and camouflage uniform that its presenter describes as resembling Soviet military clothing. Beside him is a girl wearing a sarafan, a traditional dress, and a headdress the report likens to a Russian kokoshnik.

The couple give them candy before greeting more children in the procession. The footage shows the exchange, while the political interpretation comes from the broadcaster: its presenter characterizes the costumes as pro-Russian and questions how they came to appear at the event.

The Short, titled "РОСІЙСЬКІ ПЕРСОНАЖІ на Геловіні у США" ("Russian characters at Halloween in the US"), drew about 365,000 views since yesterday. Its focus is the clothing's perceived symbolism, rather than any statement made by the children or the presidential couple.
