A dog tackles a runner mid-race in Totally Funny Animals' 'Some races don't have a winner'

A goose short posted the same day did nearly as well, while the channel's other new uploads stayed in the usual few thousands.

Some races don't have a winner 🐶🤣 #dogs #shorts #fails

Some races don't have a winner, says the title, and the dog makes sure of it. The short shows a girl running flat out with a dog at her side, until the dog cuts across her path and she goes down hard. In a day and a half it has been watched around 200,000 times. On this channel a new short usually opens with a few thousand.

The comment section has turned into a football broadcast. Viewers call it an open-field tackle, compare the dog to famous linebackers and try to get it drafted by their own struggling teams. A few hear someone off camera urging the dog on. Under the jokes runs a more serious thread: the most liked comment asks whether she was all right, and several others ask the same.

Totally Funny Animals comes from the makers of America's Funniest Home Videos and posts short clips of pets and farm animals at a steady clip. It was not the only one to break out. "There's a first time for everything," a goose short uploaded the same day, also passed six figures. Meanwhile the newer clips, a dog blowing out birthday candles and a chicken laying on demand, are still in the low thousands.

It is the second time in about a week that a single short has run far ahead of the rest here, after a regretful dog did the same, as we reported here.
