Ryan's mock warning of controversy follows a father's plainly disappointed response to pink smoke.

I reckon he wanted a boy

Ryan Jon puts his face in his hands before finding something to say. Beside him, Toni Lodge is watching the same gender-reveal footage: a father pops a cannon, pink smoke emerges, and he drops it with the words, "Another girl."

Then Ryan prepares the studio for a supposedly daring observation. "This might be controversial," he says, before delivering the sentence that gives the Short its title: "I reckon he wanted a boy." Toni and the studio break into laughter.

The podcast reaction has drawn more than 154,000 views in 19 hours, already well beyond Toni and Ryan's usual first-day audience for Shorts. Its comment section is unusually busy too, with viewers debating whether a public reveal makes sense when a parent is hoping for only one outcome.

It is a different route to the laugh from the duo's recent spelling traps: no hidden wordplay this time, just Ryan solemnly announcing what the footage has made obvious.
