DJ decks join Toni and Ryan's spelling-heavy week

Fifteen uploads brought DJ plans, confessions and a word-game clip that has passed 1.8 million views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

How well does your best friend spell?

Toni and Ryan had the largest weekly views gain among their nearby podcast peers, with Club 520 Podcast also drawing a substantial audience. Their own week mixed a runaway spelling clip with rather different developments: Toni Lodge has bought DJ decks.

"Toni Bought DJ Decks" pairs that purchase with Bunnings snags and a Melbourne show, with the description mentioning a DJ set afterwards. Elsewhere, "My Gay Best Friend Said It's Now Or Never" bundles medical comedy, Toni's tech tips and confessions about taking things without asking. It is the channel's next-busiest upload for daily viewing after the spelling clip, while "Is It a Christian Self Help Book or a Gay Bar?" is also gathering momentum.

The spelling trick we covered here has kept travelling. In "How well does your best friend spell?", Ryan Jon separates MEN and US before asking Toni to combine them. Her brain hangs onto the separate sounds before she recognises "menus". Viewers keep reporting the same snag: even seeing the letters written down didn't necessarily help. Others compare it with the familiar yes/eyes trick.

The channel added about 10,000 subscribers over the week, a quicker pace than its month-long average. Daily views are also comfortably above usual. Across all the new uploads, though, the most distinctive contrast is less statistical: Toni can be planning a DJ set in one episode and getting thoroughly sidetracked by an ordinary restaurant word in another.
