A CHICKEN JUMPSCARE

White feathers surround a round object that appears to be an egg being laid. Toni Lodge grimaces at what she's watching. Then the shot reveals a human mouth, and the performer spits out the egg and clucks.

Ryan Jon throws his head back laughing. Toni has a different question: "Is that Gordon Ramsay?" Ryan's answer, "I don't think so," does little to settle her after the opening image.

The podcast's Short, "A CHICKEN JUMPSCARE", has passed 100,000 views in nineteen hours, well ahead of Toni and Ryan's usual Shorts start. The hosts are reacting to another performer's visual gag, with white feathers around a face doing just enough to create the wrong impression.

Toni eventually explains that she thought she was watching a chicken's backside. That sends the comments into an unexpectedly specific discussion: viewers keep supplying the word "cloaca", the shared outlet for a chicken's digestive, urinary and reproductive systems. Others focus on the abrupt opening shot and the lack of preparation it allows.

Another Short, "WHAT "MATE" TRULY MEANS", is also drawing an unusually fast early audience. But it is the chicken clip that has turned Toni's mistaken first impression into an impromptu poultry-anatomy lesson.
