Great to see people learning about Australia …

Toni knows what's coming. Ryan Jon is still listening intently as a woman describes her husband's "terrible accident", and Toni Lodge has to wait for the reveal.

The Short, "Great to see people learning about Australia …", had passed 215,000 views in seven hours, an unusually fast start for Toni and Ryan. Its lesson in Australian humour is a straight-faced account of infidelity, dressed up as a tale of misfortune.

In the embedded clip, the woman explains that her husband tripped and somehow landed in a co-worker's vagina. Then comes the follow-up: he's still stuck there. Both hosts collapse into laughter. This is a comic punchline, not footage of an actual accident.

Viewers are picking apart the anticipation as much as the joke: Toni trying to hold herself together, Ryan's concerned expression before the reveal, and the woman's unwavering delivery. Others remember seeing the original clip years ago. "That kills me every time I see it," Toni says afterwards.

The channel has some history with this particular Australian lesson: a Short titled "AUSTRALIAN TRAGEDY !!! #top23of2023 #toniandryanpodcast" is already among its most-watched Shorts.
