Granny, tornadoes and a FNAF farewell carry Thoelian's week off
A three-month-old multiplayer Granny run, billed in its description as "Escape the Yammy's," is past 740,000 views and doing most of the work.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
"You guys run... I'll hold her off"
A usual day on Thoelian's channel brings in something over 46,000 views. Lately it has been a little under that, which is about what a week without a single new upload looks like for a horror-gaming channel with more than a million and a half subscribers.
The video doing the heavy lifting is almost a hundred days old. "You guys run... I'll hold her off" is a multiplayer round of Granny, the indie game where players try to slip out of a creepy old woman's house without being heard, and the description jokingly retitles it "Granny: Escape the Yammy's." It is still pulling in thousands of views a day, several times more than anything else in the library.
Behind it are two of his summer videos. "see yall in heaven bro 💔✌️" takes on free-roam fan remakes of Five Nights at Freddy's, and its description waves off another month of Marvel Rivals and teases Resident Evil 4 next. "So we're making horror games about Tornados now? 💔" puts the crew in Funnel Runners as reluctant storm chasers, or as the description puts it, who let them become storm chasers?
Among the let's-play channels near his size, the quiet is shared. Yumi and OneyPlays are running a bit above their usual pace, while YuB and TBJZLPlays have slowed more than Thoelian has. The Resident Evil 4 promise is still sitting in that FNAF description.
