An eBay mystery box of Nerf blasters, and a band called Cheap Shot

YuB's one new video unboxes a bundle of odd foam blasters bought sight unseen, while a two-week-old garage song keeps playing behind it.

WEIRD NERF GUNS FROM EBAY

Six days old, "WEIRD NERF GUNS FROM EBAY" is the only new upload on YuB, and it is doing what his toy videos tend to do. The premise is simple: a mystery box of Nerf blasters from eBay, bought without knowing what was inside and then fired one by one. The tags lean happily on the cursed-shopping genre, and the edit is credited to @MansTooLit. It drew close to 39,000 views on its first day and has kept a steady pace since.

It also keeps company with an older cousin. "XSHOT BLASTERS ARE INSANE DUDE," a month old, was his first go with X-Shot, the foam blasters that live on the same toy-store shelf as Nerf, and it is still picking up views. For a channel whose about text promises stupid videos with lots of memes, foam darts have become a reliable lane.

The detour is musical. "whoops i accidentally wrote a song," posted two weeks ago, comes from YuB's band, Cheap Shot, which the description says is on Spotify. The tags list song titles such as "Clown Car on Fire" and "Super Confident Guy" and point to Sex Bob-Omb, the scrappy garage band from Scott Pilgrim, as the sound he is chasing. The description asks how this keeps happening, which suggests the accident is becoming a habit.

Overall the channel ran at its usual pace, a little above it if anything, with most of the daily views coming from the back catalog rather than the new uploads. Among the variety channels nearest his size, where YuB has the second-most subscribers, the big weeks belong to Slushy Noobz and 3FS, each running at roughly double their normal level, and to Yumi. Beautiful OB is having a quieter stretch than usual.
