Lisa Ling and Debbie Matenopoulos take turns back at The View's table

Two former co-hosts guested on back-to-back days, between the Cornell case, a Jack Smith hearing and Evan Gershkovich.

"The View Full Broadcast – September 29, 2026" brought Lisa Ling back to the table as a guest co-host. The next day it was Debbie Matenopoulos. Both got a turn in The ReView, the segment looking back on their own moments on the show, and the pairing has a neat bit of history to it. Matenopoulos was part of the original 1997 panel beside Barbara Walters, and Ling was the one who took over that seat after her.

The Monday episode also had Evan Gershkovich, the Wall Street Journal reporter who spent more than a year imprisoned in Russia. Tuesday ended with the cast of 'East of Eden.' The full broadcasts were the most watched of the channel's fifteen uploads, and the September 30 episode is the fastest-moving video on the channel right now.

The heaviest conversation came from Cornell University. The panel and Ling discussed the district attorney's decision to reopen a criminal investigation after a lawsuit by a former student. She says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by seven fraternity members in 2024. Sara Haines's clip on what parents owe their sons in raising them drew more steadily than the segment itself. She went further on Behind The Table with executive producer Brian Teta and spoke as a parent.

On the political side, a segment asking whether a Senate hearing aimed at Jack Smith backfired on a Republican questioner is the second-busiest video on the channel at the moment.

All of it has the channel running about half again above its usual daily views. Among the talk and morning shows around it, CBS Mornings and Good Morning Britain are having the bigger weeks. Real Time with Bill Maher is well below its usual pace.
