Old mining trails nobody drives anymore, and a friend named Mike riding along

The Story Till Now's one new trip passed 57,000 views in its first 28 hours, and the comment section is mostly about Mike.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Half a million subscribers, and the channel added a single video to its shelf over the seven days. "We Took Old Mining Trails Where No One Goes Anymore" goes back to a theme Shaun has been working for a while: forgotten roads cut for mines, now mostly left to rock and weather, driven in a Jeep Gladiator with a camping setup in the back.

The new one started fast. In a little over a day it gathered more views than the channel's whole catalog usually draws in two, and it lifted the channel to more than twice its normal daily pace. For a channel this size, that is a strong first day.

What viewers talk about most is not the trail but the company. Mike, the friend along for the drive, fills the top of the comments, described as endlessly cheerful and as a plain, old-school off-roader with nothing flashy about him. After him come the landscapes: a waterfall stepping down through several pools, alpine country high above the tree line, and one viewer marveling that those towering rocks were once a seabed. A few also noticed a wider picture format and the soundtrack.

The older chapters keep moving behind it. "DANGEROUS Adventure On Old Mining Roads (We Almost Died)", three weeks old, has passed 155,000 views, and the two-day climb in "HIGHEST Elevation Overland Route in British Columbia" is close behind it.

Among motorbike and off-road channels of a similar size, this was a calmer stretch: dickfartjr and Live The Dash ran far above their usual pace, while The Story Till Now is still a small, patient corner of that group, built on one long trip at a time.
