Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

The Drums x Genesis Owusu - "Blackstar" (Official Visualizer)

Torn-paper portraits do the visual work; Genesis Owusu and Jonny Pierce supply the contrast. On "The Drums x Genesis Owusu - "Blackstar" (Official Visualizer)," Owusu's forceful verses give way to Pierce's layered melodic chorus, with driving drums and synth bass underneath. The collage stays put, leaving the voices to change the mood.

The Drums posted nothing new this week, but this October collaboration has the strongest daily momentum among the uploads drawing attention now. It is collecting views at more than twice the pace of the Mareux duet "The Drums x Mareux - "It Didn't Matter" (Official Visualizer)." That earlier pairing remains active too, alongside "The Drums - "I (Still) Don't Know How To Love" (Full Album Stream)," whose description credits Pierce with every instrument as well as the production and recording work.

The subscriber count held steady through the week at 497,000, leaving the half-million mark close but not yet reached. Among nearby music channels, John Fogerty had a substantial viewing week, while Vulf's daily viewing is running above its usual pace.

For The Drums, the contrast stretches beyond the two duets: "The Drums - Money," released in 2011, remains the channel's most-watched regular upload, with roughly 75 million views. "Blackstar" offers a different entry point, built around the handoff between Owusu's rap delivery and Pierce's harmonies.
