TechLinked's hardware week comes with a privacy catch

Five uploads pair touchscreen Macs and Valve hardware with questions about TV tracking, search ads and consumer control.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

$6.3 BILLION, gone.$6.3 BILLION, gone.

A touchscreen MacBook sounds like the straightforward hardware story in TechLinked's week. Around it, though, the channel kept returning to a less comfortable question: what do the devices and services you use get to take in return?

"TVs Have Betrayed Us" examined Samsung data-collection claims alongside iPhone Duo repairability and hinge cracks. "We've Waited YEARS For This" opened with Apple's touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, then moved into Anthropic's IPO filing, Discord messages reaching Google search and Google's use of Gmail and Drive data for ads. New hardware had plenty of company.

The biggest of the five uploads was "$6.3 BILLION, gone.", reaching roughly 462,000 views. Riley Murdock's roundup opened with the reported Binance breach, but ranged well beyond it: Google AI search advertising, a Linux kernel flaw and Sam Altman's argument that consumer PC memory represents a wasteful use of resources. The episode includes a sponsored segment.

That upload also has the most momentum right now. The smaller "Another Valve W", focused on Steam Frame and CD-ROM support, is adding views faster than the touchscreen Mac episode, a useful little hardware footnote to the week's larger stories.

Across TechLinked, daily viewing is nearly twice its usual level, while the subscriber count was unchanged over the week. Its weekly views sit close to LGR's among nearby technology channels; Zach's Tech Turf had a much busier week. For TechLinked, the distinctive mix remained hardware anticipation with a recurring question about who controls the technology afterward.
