Sparks Motors gives Joaquin the engineering puzzle and Heavy D the test-driving duties. The puzzle is how to keep an off-road Polaris Slingshot moving after its belt slips off almost immediately outside the garage.

The channel's only new upload, "Heavy D BROKE Our Off-Road Slingshot on the FIRST TEST?!", has reached roughly 123,000 views. Much of the episode belongs to the fabrication rather than the driving: Joaquin machines sprockets and develops a dual-chain setup to cope with the oversized rear tire and increased torque.

Then Dave Sparks takes it into the yard for burnouts and drifting. A chain comes off, sending Joaquin back to the tensioner geometry. By the later workshop scenes, Hiram is cutting and bending a larger chain guard, while Joaquin removes a spring tensioner that proved too loud. The episode also contains giveaway promotions, separate from the workshop work.

Viewers are getting into the mechanical details themselves. Several suggest keeper rings or wider guards to keep the chains on their sprockets; others propose different tensioner arrangements. The fabrication has given them something more specific to discuss than whether the finished machine looks imposing.

The Slingshot is currently the channel's busiest video, drawing about twice the daily views of September's custom Kenworth build. The twin Ramchargers, one lifted and one lowered, remain active too.

Subscribers held steady across the week, while daily viewing is running below half its usual level. Nearby motoring channels Garbage Time and Pushing Pistons are having busier weeks, but Sparks Motors' own center of attention is firmly on this three-wheeler and the hardware needed to withstand Dave's right foot.

  • That is one mean looking machine. Great idea changing the belt drive for a chain drive system. Can't wait to see it in action with DS behind the wheel giving it full beans

  • Needs a chain guide or tension roller for the slack. I’d def put a case saver on that beast!

  • Looks like the rear sprockets need chain keeper rings on both sides. So the chain always stays on the sprockets.

  • Im wondering how hard it would be to reverse the swing arm to the other side of the wheel away from the chain it'll definitely be interesting to see how they work it out
