Simon Wilson steps off the train with warnings from fellow passengers, then finds a rather different puzzle: where is everybody? His Alice Springs visit takes him down a near-deserted Monday-afternoon main street and into a shopping centre full of shuttered shops, with a kangaroo statue available for conversation.

There is a warmer welcome outside. Cory, a New Zealander working in town, stops for a photo, recommends Anzac Hill for the view and invites Simon to the tavern he runs across the road. When Simon eventually drops in, Cory isn't there, but a chat with a pool player gives the outing some company.

"Strangest Town in Australia 👀🇦🇺" was the most-watched of the week's three uploads, reaching roughly 270,000 views. The other arrivals kept the Australian connection with "1-Star Hostel in Sydney ⭐🇦🇺", then moved to Malaysia for "$35 Room at World's Largest Hotel 🏨🇲🇾".

That last subject already has considerable momentum. The longer "I Tried The World's Largest Hotel" is approaching three million views and currently attracts the most daily viewing on the channel. The Sydney hostel is the busiest of the new arrivals right now, despite Alice Springs having the larger total.

Simon added 10,000 subscribers over the week, although daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. That's a pattern shared by several nearby travel channels, including Itchy Boots and Abroad in Japan; Tyler Morgan - Japan Adventures is having a busier-than-usual spell. For Simon, the week's strongest continuing draw is the hotel visit published before this trio arrived.
