Puppet axolotls travel down the parade route, a skeleton drumline follows, and food vendors grill skewers beside crowded walkways. Mexico City's Día de Muertos celebrations give World Wanderings: 4K Walking Tours plenty to follow before the lights even come on.
The new upload has reached about 35,000 views in fourteen hours, already several times the channel's usual full-day audience for regular videos. It follows a separate nighttime walk through Puebla's celebrations, extending the channel's Mexican itinerary beyond the capital.
There is no added narration. Instead, the camera moves among performers, spectators and vendors, letting marching bands and street chatter supply the soundtrack. Pyramid-themed floats carry marigolds and skeletal figures; giant Catrina puppets dance outside restaurants as dusk approaches.
After dark, the main square holds an enormous illuminated Catrina, glowing alebrije decorations and light displays across historic buildings. A procession of customized cars and vans brings another kind of spectacle: skulls, flowers, neon lighting and sound systems moving through the streets.
This is a noisier outing than the channel's quiet October walk beside Mishima's spring-fed Genbeigawa River. But the street-level approach stays the same, right down to the small encounters between spectacles. Here, that includes inflatable T-Rex performers play-fighting before the camera continues toward illuminated bands and evening food stalls.
