Sam gets into the SF90 Spider and finds astonishing acceleration, sharp steering and something missing: the soundtrack he has just enjoyed in the 458. Ferrari progress turns out to be a more complicated proposition than simply going faster.
"Is Old Really Gold?! Ferrari 458 Spider v SF90 Spider" was Seen Through Glass's only new upload this week, reaching roughly 134,000 views. The comparison starts with an awkward shopping question: Sam puts the older Spider's asking price in territory occupied by nearly new Ferraris. Over lunch, Andrew North of Alexanders Prestige joins him to discuss depreciation at the newer end and rising prices for older cars.
On the road, Sam praises the 458's naturally aspirated V8, gearbox and throttle response, while noting some scuttle shake. The SF90 delivers its own persuasive argument through sheer speed, but its haptic steering-wheel controls and less involving soundtrack leave him wanting. Andrew supplies the counterpoint after returning to the older car: "Feels slow now."
The comments extend that conversation rather than settle it. Several viewers pick out the 458's sound, including its audibility while Sam drives the SF90; others distinguish usable performance from outright horsepower or make the case for newer hybrids.
The Ferrari comparison is also the channel's busiest video right now, followed by the American V8 truck drive and the older cheap-Porsche-911 question. Daily viewing is running about half above its usual level, although subscribers held steady across the week. Among nearby motoring channels, Pushing Pistons had a particularly large viewing week, while EVO was quieter.
Sam's showroom wander adds a different kind of temptation: the Bentley Azure Mulliner's woodwork, leather and mechanical switches. After all that Ferrari arithmetic, old-school glamour gets a look-in too.

You can hear the 458 even when you go large in the SF90. That says it all for me.
@andrewburns3952See it on YouTubeI feel like the real difference between the old and new cars is engagement. Horsepower is great, but usable horsepower is better.
