A Bolsonaro runoff in Brazil and a Roosters comeback fill SBS News' bulletins

Flavio Bolsonaro finished first with over 47 percent and now faces President Lula again, while the Knights' fairy tale ended one point short.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

SBS News put out fifteen uploads over the week, and the newest bulletin leads with a surprise from Brazil. Flavio Bolsonaro, the right-wing senator and son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, topped the first round with more than 47 percent of the vote, short of the majority he needed. That sets up a runoff against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The same bulletin also covers Spain's snap election for November 29, a new government offensive against the Houthis in Yemen and an Ethiopian army push into Mekelle.

It is a day old and already the channel's busiest video. The most watched upload of the week came just before it: a Yemen bulletin that passed 95,000 views, nearly all of them in its first day.

At home, the story was the NRL grand final. The Sydney Roosters were down 12-0 just before halftime at Stadium Australia, then came back to beat Newcastle 19-18 for their first premiership in seven years and their 16th overall. SBS posted both press conferences. Kalyn Ponga and Justin Holbrook spoke for a Knights side that had gone from last year's wooden spoon to the decider. James Tedesco, Daly Cherry-Evans and coach Trent Robinson spoke for the winners. The losing side's clip drew almost twice the views of the champions'. Perhaps a fairy tale that falls one point short is the harder story to look away from?

The channel as a whole is running well below its usual daily pace, and it added about 1,000 subscribers. Among the nine news broadcasters close to it in size, only The Financial Express and The Daily Beast added more views over the seven days. The Washington Post Universe had the quietest week of the group.
