Mark Dolan calls Harry and Meghan's photos 'propaganda' on Daily Expresso
His return to the newspaper's weekday talk show drew far more viewers than its usual first day, and its comment section filled at twice the normal pace.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 152,939 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (13,073).
'Its all FAKE!' The TRUTH About Meghan and Harry's Relationship | Daily Expresso
Mark Dolan's last appearance on Daily Expresso gave the show a strong start, as we reported here. He came back on Monday with a royal subject, and the episode has gone further. "'Its all FAKE!' The TRUTH About Meghan and Harry's Relationship | Daily Expresso" passed 105,000 views in its first twelve hours. A new episode on the Daily Express channel usually ends its whole first day well short of that.
Daily Expresso is the paper's weekday talk show, posted at 5pm and hosted by JJ Anisiobi. In this episode Dolan, the broadcaster best known for his late-night GB News show, argues that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's recent public appearances are staged. According to the description, he calls their latest photos "horrendous propaganda," questions a lunch engagement he believes was arranged for the papers, and dismisses the couple's much-discussed UK return as a "nothing burger." These are Dolan's opinions and the argument of the episode, not established facts.
The comments came in at twice the pace of a usual first day, already double that count in half the time. Many viewers go through the photos themselves, and several ask why no security is visible in them. Dolan also takes some pushback: a few of the most liked comments object to his remark that Harry is an OK bloke.
It was a busy Monday for the channel. A short of Jeremy Clarkson calling Labour's taxes an attack on farmers came close to this episode's pace, and footage of a protest in a seaside town and a long Nigel Farage interview also ran far ahead of the usual start. A second Dolan clip about the couple went up the same day and drew only a fraction of these views. The one with "fake" in its title did most of the work.
