The day I met Ser Dunk the Tall ⚔️🎃 #KnightoftheSevenKingdoms #GameofThrones #Halloween #Comedy
Shaving his head is only the beginning. Sam Cornforth gets down on his knees to play Egg, knocks on a door and finds Peter Claffey, the actor behind Ser Duncan the Tall, on the other side. His costume has found exactly the right audience, though the welcome needs some work.
The staged sketch moves from an angry doorstep encounter to an apology: "I'm sorry for barking!" Claffey says, before offering a pint. Stout, dancing and swordplay follow. It is a rather elaborate payoff for deciding to dress as a much smaller character from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Sam's only upload of the week reached roughly 340,000 views. In the comments, viewers pick out Claffey's air-punching, the contrast between full armour and dismissing trick-or-treating, and the increasingly surreal turns. The doorstep is hardly the end of the adventure.
Across the channel, the week brought 3,000 additional subscribers, taking Sam just beyond half a million. Daily viewing is close to its usual level. Among nearby sketch channels, Cheap Noodle had a particularly large viewing week, while Joel Iyalla's subscriber count was unchanged.
The strongest daily momentum belongs to Sam's earlier ageing sketch, "OUT OF ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! ⏰🫠 #1990s #Comedy #Sketch #Actor #millennials #genz #age #old #relatable". His awkward-photo poses and barber encounter are also adding views, but the sudden arrival of feeling old is currently doing considerably more work than either. The new costume may be medieval; the catalogue's busiest joke is about getting older.
