Has this ever happened to you?

President Business can wait. Brooke Monk is trying to explain the theft of the Kragle, but her boyfriend's smile is making the plot rather difficult to follow.

That's the setup of "Has this ever happened to you?", a lip-synced comedy Short captioned "Trying to talk to my bf but we just kissed." It has drawn more than 580,000 views in 11 hours, a much faster start than her Shorts usually get.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Brooke begins with The Lego Movie's urgent exposition. The camera turns to her boyfriend smiling in the driver's seat, then returns to Brooke as the soundtrack dissolves into a dismissive jumble of names and backstory. Her distracted expression supplies the rest of the joke.

The title's invitation gets some very literal answers: several viewers say this has never happened to them, while others focus on the boyfriend's expression. One viewer recalls a similarly absorbing conversation about a girlfriend's enthusiasm for Zelda. Another asks where the familiar audio comes from: an animated adventure has become the soundtrack to a very different kind of lost concentration.
