Kravica Waterfall, Mostar and a pyramid question: Ryan Shirley's Bosnia guide
The eight-day-old travel guide runs from Sarajevo to the mountain village of Lukomir, with drone help credited to a local Bosnia filmmaker.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Top 10 Places To Visit in Bosnia & Herzegovina - Travel Guide
"Top 10 Places To Visit in Bosnia & Herzegovina - Travel Guide" is the newest stop in Ryan Shirley's country-by-country series, and on a week with no fresh uploads it is the video doing the most work. Eight days in, it has passed 40,000 views and is gathering them faster than anything else on the channel.
The route is a satisfying one. It opens in Mostar and at the Blagaj Tekke, the dervish house tucked against a cliff at the source of the Buna, then moves to the emerald pools of Kravica and the stone village of Počitelj. There is a detour to Neum, Bosnia's sliver of coastline, before the guide heads inland to Jajce, Sarajevo, the high village of Lukomir and Visoko, where the chapter title nods to the much-debated "Bosnian pyramids." The description thanks a fellow creator, @dronba, for some of the aerial shots.
The older guides have not gone quiet. Thailand, from Khao Sok to the Phi Phi Islands, and Sri Lanka, from Sigiriya to the Nine Arch Bridge at Ella, are each more than six months old and still sit right behind Bosnia in daily pace. It is a fitting picture for a creator whose about text says he began with magic and science videos and has turned to travel cinematography.
Views ran a little above the channel's usual pace, and roughly a thousand new subscribers arrived. Among travel channels of a similar size, Michael Drake had by far the busiest week, while Living The Van Life ran well above its usual rhythm.
