A Yamaha R1 left to rot in a barn keeps RRC Restoration busy

Part 6 of the barn-find superbike series is 38 days old and still the channel's busiest video, with the series opener from the spring close behind.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Thirty-eight days after it went up, part six of RRC Restoration's Yamaha R1 series is still the video people reach for first. The bike in question is a YZF R1 its owner abandoned long ago in a barn, and the description says it has since been brought back to full road-going condition, with the whole job split into a series.

No new uploads arrived over the past seven days, and the channel hardly seemed to notice. It ran a little warmer than its usual daily pace, adding close to 180,000 views across the week, while the subscriber count sat still at 792,000.

The R1 has a long tail. The first part, posted nearly seven months ago, is the second busiest video right now and is closing in on half a million views. Perhaps newcomers to part six are going back to see how the bike looked in the barn? Behind both sits a Suzuki Bandit GSF1200, bought off eBay after years forgotten in a shed and rebuilt as a dedicated winter bike.

The part six description carries a small note of frustration too: the creator says a watermark and the channel's name will now pop up throughout his videos, because he is tired of people re-uploading his work as their own. It fits a channel whose about text promises high quality restorations with editing that, in its own words, "leaves a lot to be desired."

Among the motorbike and motorsport channels close to its size, RRC Restoration sits third by subscribers, level with Srkcycles, but had one of the calmer weeks for views. P1 with Matt & Tommy and Sky Sports F1 drew the biggest crowds.
