Dressmaker, a Touhou stage and one elephant: Rin Penrose's two uploads
The VTuber's flash-game struggle in 'I just want to beat ONE level' passed 110,000 views, and its comments are busy correcting which shooter one stage really borrows from.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Ruining innocent women's lives in Dressmaker
Ten hours online and already past 70,000 views: "Ruining innocent women's lives in Dressmaker" is the freshest thing on Rin Penrose's channel, and the quickest. The description offers only a mangled "Bone apple tea", which tells you roughly how seriously the self-described John VTuber takes a dress-design game.
The longer story of the week is Thursday's "I just want to beat ONE level", a trip through the Elephant Collection flash games, where the joke is that there is only ever one level and it keeps changing on you. Rin's own description suspects he may not be very good at puzzle (singular). The comments have gone full detective. One stage is called "The Touhou Project", but sharp-eyed viewers point out that the elephant only dies to one color of bullet, which makes it a nod to Ikaruga instead. Others replay his confident line about purple being lava, note a striking lack of ducks, and wonder whether elephants are becoming a phobia. A few remember playing the originals in elementary school.
It follows last week's "It's just 20 Small Mazes. How bad could it be?", a Fleb puzzle game, so the theme is holding: small games, big suffering.
The channel ran calmer than usual, with subscribers flat at 923,000, yet among the let's-play and variety gamers near his size it still gathered the fourth most views. Two Much Grian and WorstPremadeEver had the loudest weeks in the group, while John Wolfe's pace was well under his usual. Rin streams, as the channel notes, with Snebby, a snail he calls the coolest.

30:47 despite the stage being called "The Touhou Project", you can see that the elephant only dies to the black projectiles, not the white ones: meaning this stage is *actually* an Ikaruga reference
