A defibrillator with no charge, and Hat Films' week at war in WARDOGS
Ten uploads ran from Bodycam's Backrooms to a Minecraft railway for Hat Corp, and a day-old WARDOGS episode about Smith's dead defib is moving fastest.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Your defibrillator needs a charger in Wardogs
Ten uploads, three wars. Chris Trott, Ross Hornby and Alex Smith, the Bristol trio who have made Hat Films together for well over a decade, spent most of the week with guns in their hands, and the newest of those videos is the one doing the most work.
That is "Your defibrillator needs a charger in Wardogs," a day old and already gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. The description sums it up: Smith runs out of defib charge, then turns to tank warfare. It follows a calmer first visit to the hundred-player shooter, billed in its description as a game breaking sales records.
The week's most watched upload, though, came first: "The Backrooms have never been this realistic (Bodycam)." The comments under it have handed out nicknames, with Smith as the man who keeps emptying his Uzi next to his own teammates and fumbling grenades, and Trott recast as a Yeovil-based menace. Many viewers also want the game's zombies mode back.
Between the shooting came the usual Hat staples: a mine-hungry floor of Gamble With Your Friends, a CribGuessr round about two Louisiana houses joined into one odd compound, and a new Hat Corp contract in the Create Aeronautics modpack, where the job is building a train station. That railway episode had the strongest first day of the week.
All of it lifted the channel well above its usual daily pace, while the subscriber count held where it was. Among the let's-play and variety channels of a similar size, WorstPremadeEver had the big week, and estabr0k one of the quieter ones.
