Can a Switch 2 cartridge work in a Switch 1? cdotkom finds out
Nine uploads went up, from Totaka's Song to a Kirby challenge, and the comment section under the cartridge test turned into a lesson on Switch 2 editions.

Can you put a Switch 2 Game in a Switch 1…
Would a Switch 1 even recognize a Switch 2 game? cdotkom, the self-described "funny gamer man," decided someone had to try, and his description jokes that the older console might get hungry and eat the cartridge. The test became his most watched upload of a nine-video week, passing 160,000 views.
The comments did some homework of their own. Several viewers explain that Switch 2 editions of games that also exist for the first Switch, such as Kirby and the Forgotten Land or Metroid Prime 4, simply load the older version. Others suggest Nintendo should have borrowed the little plastic tab that kept 3DS cartridges out of DS slots, and one tiny explosion at the very end gets its own fan club.
The rest of the week stayed in Nintendo's backyard. "Nintendo's Most Hidden Song..." goes hunting for Totaka's Song, the short melody composer Kazumi Totaka tucks into the games he works on, and "Can You Beat Kirby's Hardest Challenge?" carries a description he admits was written over four years ago. The freshest upload, "How Can I Play 2 Games At The Same Time?", is moving fastest after half a day, with "Nintendo's Duplicating Controller..." close behind.
Views ran a touch under the channel's usual pace, and the subscriber count crept up by a couple of thousand. Among the let's-play and variety gamers near his size, cdotkom added the third most views, behind jenn and WorstPremadeEver, whose week ran well above normal. One viewer has already noticed that 800,000 subscribers is not far off.

What viewers say
The 1 frame explosion at the end made me laugh😂😂
@YandrielgordoSee it on YouTubeIf you use the Metroid Prime 4 or Pokémon Leyends Z-A cartridge, the Switch 1 will recognize them and you will be able to play them. As far as I know, this happens with every Switch 2 game that also has a version for Switch 1 because both versions are in the same cartridge.
@foreverpsiSee it on YouTubeIt took a second to download the explosion because it didn't come with the cartridge
