Can a quarterback change make a winning team more dangerous? Rich Eisen thinks Carson Wentz gives Minnesota something its offense has been missing, even if the trade-off is a few more anxious moments with the ball in the air.
The Vikings' move to start Wentz against Buffalo, with Kyler Murray sidelined by a hamstring injury, interrupts a discussion about the skepticism surrounding Minnesota despite its strong record and defense. Eisen's diagnosis is blunt: "The Vikings' offense has been so pedestrian."
His argument isn't that Wentz is the safer option. It's that he offers more upside throwing deep, with a greater risk of turnovers. Eisen would accept that risk for an offense capable of putting more pressure on opponents. Chris Brockman adds a receiver's perspective, noting that Justin Jefferson had his best game of the season with Wentz at quarterback.
The discussion passed 100,000 views within nine hours, comfortably beyond the show's usual full-day audience for a regular video. Its comment section was also already far busier than a typical first day. Viewers debate whether interceptions are necessarily worse for a defense than repeated possessions ending without a first down, while one imagines Wentz getting a Nick Foles-style postseason moment of his own.
Brockman doubts the change will last only one game, though Eisen says coach Kevin O'Connell is describing Murray's injury as week-to-week. As the conversation turns to Minnesota's remaining schedule, a crew member produces a binder labeled "NFL Script 2026." The quarterback uncertainty has supplied the show with another plotline.

@upsettingZooSee it on YouTubeYes, an interception can be tough on a defense... but so is constantly going 3 and out 🤷♂️

As a Vikings fan I am good with tag teaming Wentz and Murray in EVERY game for the remainder of the season. Both have their advantages so give them each some time depending on the situation.
