Reed Timmer's Dominator 3 gets a miniature counterpart

The model announcement draws an unusually large audience, while viewers look past it for a familiar storm-chasing vehicle.

Breaking news! The limited edition Dominator 3 toys are for sale at TeamDominator.store!

A hand rotates the little armored vehicle, showing off its raised gull-wing doors, roof-mounted weather instruments and angular shell. Behind it sits the full-size Dominator 3, giving Reed Timmer's miniature a rather substantial reference model.

The Short is a promotional announcement for the storm chaser's merchandise, not a weather alert. It drew roughly 240,000 views in its first day, about seven times the usual audience for his Shorts. The comments were more than three times as busy as usual, too.

For a channel whose most-watched Shorts include the Dominator's blown motor and mechanical troubles, this is a different way of putting the vehicle in the spotlight: the armor is here, without the roadside repair.

Some viewers are looking beyond the model altogether. Several ask whether the vehicle they recognize in the background is Dominator 1, or remark on seeing it again. Another says the miniature realizes something they had wanted to do with a die-cast Tahoe for years.
