Louisville's Pokémon tournament week comes with an Umbreon throwback

Fifteen uploads span regional championships, Johto animation and a behind-the-scenes look at Pokémon's Santa Cruz skateboard collaboration.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Gary's Umbreon is back in action, and its battle with Alakazam is the official Pokémon channel's busiest upload by daily views right now. The clip from Pokémon: Johto League Champions offers a compact animated alternative to a week whose biggest new draws were full tournament broadcasts.

Louisville supplied those longer watches. "VGC Day 2 | 2027 Pokémon Louisville Regional Championships" reached about 304,000 views, the most of the week's new uploads, with most arriving in its opening day. Both days of video game competition and Trading Card Game coverage occupied the top spots among the new releases.

For viewers catching up on Day 2, finding the right match became a subject of its own. Several comments ask for the community's customary timestamp guide; others compare notes on Sleep Powder and the way weather affects move accuracy. It is a very Pokémon combination: practical navigation, then a close reading of battle mechanics.

Away from Louisville, the channel's Santa Cruz skateboard collaboration is getting attention. "Decks on Decks 🛹 | Behind The Scenes with Pokémon and Santa Cruz Skateboards" is a promotional making-of about choosing cards, developing designs and producing the collection. It sits just behind the Umbreon clip in current daily viewing, with a separate reveal episode also among the channel's busiest uploads.

Subscribers held steady over the week, while the channel collected roughly 19 million views. That was a substantial weekly total among its nearby game-publisher and esports peers, though its daily viewing is currently well below its usual pace. For Pokémon viewers, the upload shelf has offered distinctly different ways to spend that time: tournament strategy, a familiar Johto battle, or trading-card art turned into skateboard designs.

  • I'm too early for the timestamps, but too late for the result spoilers...

  • So I have seen a bunch of people over the weekend going for hurricane in the sun and I thought that it has an accuracy drop in the sun as well as an accuracy buff in the rain and then 70 accuracy in neutral weather but none of the casters mentioned that the hurricane in the sun has a super slim chance to hit, am I just misremembering the interaction??
