Helldivers 2 gives stealth soldiers camouflage and a snowball
PlayStation's Scope of Authority trailer puts long-range weapons beside a straight-faced joke, drawing more than half a million views in 15 hours.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 693,331 views a day, 10 times a normal first day on this channel (66,954).
Helldivers 2 - Scope of Authority Warbond | PS5 & PC Games
PlayStation's new Helldivers 2 trailer moves through swamps, snow, desert and forest before showing soldiers picking off targets from a distance. For a cooperative shooter known for chaotic firefights, Scope of Authority puts the emphasis on staying out of sight.
This is a promotional gameplay trailer for a Premium Warbond, a paid equipment collection launching October 20 on PS5 and PC. Its early viewing pace points to a first-day audience more than ten times the channel's usual start for videos this short. The comments have already reached roughly ten times the usual full-day total, too.
Adaptive camouflage is a particular talking point. The trailer shows medium and light armor equipped with the concealment feature, and commenters are discussing what it could mean for players who favor stealth. Others reach for memories of Call of Duty's ghillie-suit missions. One running joke imagines a distant sniper shot immediately giving away the shooter's position to every robot on the map.
The equipment isn't all about remaining unnoticed. A heavy laser cannon gets a two-soldier demonstration, while an anti-materiel cannon fires into groups of armored bots.
Then comes the wonderfully bureaucratic label: "Manual Ballistic Projection Protocol." What it actually describes is a soldier throwing a snowball. Even a quiet approach to spreading Super Earth's "Managed Democracy" apparently needs some official paperwork.

What viewers say
Honestly, not only do the weapons look fittingly powerful for a sniper warbond, but that adaptive camouflage has the potential to make this the coolest warbond in the game

The numbers
The trailer's unusually fast start stands out within a fairly typical day for PlayStation's channel overall. Its comment section is also much busier than the usual first day for a short upload.
