Charlie lifts a Lightning McQueen television into view, looking almost as pleased with the screen as with anything he might play on it. The car-shaped CRT is one discovery in penguinz0's "I Finally Went Through All of It," an hour-long tour of a retro haul that took more than seven hours to sort.
Posted today, the video has drawn about 930,000 views in its opening hours. It brings the sorting project to a finish, but the most personal discoveries aren't purchases at all: Charlie also brings out childhood games that survived his trade-in purge in 2010.
On the sleeves of Astro Boy and Halo: Combat Evolved are handwritten records of victories that mattered to him. "Games that I beat, I used to be really proud of, so I'd write 'beat the game' on them and then I'd date it," he explains. Viewers pick up on those little inscriptions, alongside jokes about a room that resembles a game store.
The Marketplace purchase contains roughly 2,000 games, plus consoles and accessories. Charlie moves from loose Nintendo 64 cartridges to sealed PS2 curiosities, boxed NES sets and a GameCube library. Stream chat supplies price checks, sometimes leaving him surprised at what an apparently ordinary box might command.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai prompts a different kind of valuation. As a child, he filmed a camcorder guide to unlocking its characters. Holding the game again, he realizes that homemade tutorial was, in a way, his first gaming video.
