Palace Confidential is close to 400 million lifetime views, and the guest helping it along has a memory that reaches back to 1953. Lady Glenconner was a Maid of Honour at Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation, married the man who owned Mustique and spent 29 years as lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret. In her new interview she talks about handling Margaret after a late night, partying at Royal Lodge long before it became Prince Andrew's house, and the day she watched the Queen give Prince William a telling-off at Balmoral.

That sit-down, posted Sunday, is the channel's fastest-moving video right now, with a short on a coming drama about Angela Kelly, the late Queen's dresser, close behind.

The week's most watched upload, though, was Thursday's regular show. Richard Eden, Rebecca English and Charlotte Griffiths asked whether King Charles might use the 30th anniversary of Diana's death to bring his sons into the same room, and also covered two surprise visits by the Princess of Wales, one of them on a minibus with elderly passengers. The comment section had a firm view of its own: many viewers ask that William be left to remember his mother privately, and plenty of them would rather hear less about a reunion. The minibus outing drew warmer words.

Across seven uploads, including a short on Catherine's fondness for salted, crinkled crisps, the channel ran at about twice its usual daily pace, gaining close to 1.5 million views and 1,000 subscribers. Among news channels of similar size, only The Financial Express had a far bigger week, while SBS News and Janta Ka Reporter ran below their usual pace.

  • The Princess of Wales trip on the mini bus and to the care home was a delight. Her informal hair style was perfect and she seemed to enjoy her self as much as the rest of the group. Well done on her! ❤
