Kirk Franklin's 'This Time' joins On The Radar's crowded September 30

The gospel star shared a day of uploads with a New Zealand rapper's 'Quack', posted twice, and a five-song TOB set.

Nine hours after it went up, Kirk Franklin's "This Time" performance was the busiest new video on On The Radar Radio. Franklin is a long way from the channel's usual lineup. He has spent three decades at the top of gospel music, from the Family to "Stomp" to a shelf of Grammys. His set landed in the middle of a run of rap performances.

That run was long. Fifteen videos went up over the week, and the most watched of them all arrived on the same day, September 30. Mac-K the K Baby brought "Gust of Wind." Zaybeezy paired "360/2 !" with "kiss n tell." TOB went through five songs in one take, from "Still Care" to an outro, by way of "06 Bounce" and "Take em to Church." Baby Lane's "Quack" appeared twice, once under a New Zealand flag and once in the channel's standard performance format. The flagged version is drawing the larger audience so far.

None of these is a day old yet, so the numbers are still small: Franklin's clip had a little under 2,000 views. TOB's medley is gathering views almost as quickly as Mac-K's single song.

Among the music platforms of a similar size, the busy stretch belongs to triple j and BBC Radio 1Xtra, both running well above their usual daily pace. Mixtape Madness is right on its normal level, while Pressplay Media and Apple Music are running quieter than usual. On The Radar sits in the middle of that group by subscribers, at around 1.85 million, with its latest batch of sets just starting to find listeners.
