"Kibo | Kenny Allstar Freestyle" is the video doing the heavy lifting on BBC Radio 1Xtra's channel. It belongs to the station's long-running freestyle strand hosted by Kenny Allstar, and five days after going up it has passed 40,000 views, still adding a few thousand a day.
The other three uploads were short and playful: French Montana and Young Adz "needing context," Skepta turning the tables on DJ Target, and a question about the greatest sitcom of all time. None of them drew much of a crowd, and the Skepta clip, a grime pioneer and a longtime 1Xtra host sharing a laugh, is the liveliest of the three.
Older uploads are keeping the channel company. Kurupt FM's Team Takeover, with MC Grindah, DJ Beats and Steves, is eight days old and ticking along. Twenty days on, Victony's Live Lounge set, pairing "SLICK" with an Afrobeats medley, has passed 150,000 views.
The channel as a whole ran at roughly three-fifths of its usual daily pace, and subscribers held flat. That was the mood across the music media around it: Link Up TV, triple j, Mixtape Madness and HalseyVEVO all drew less than normal, and Pressplay Media dipped hardest.
