Lightwork Freestyle, twice over: Pressplay's week in UK rap

Diesel HRB's new take on the series arrived next to a Jooka, MBizz and Foreign Muli edition from early September that has passed 100,000 views.

Across the music channels around Pressplay Media, nobody was at full speed. VibesOnly, Mixtape Madness, triple j and BBC Radio 1Xtra all ran below their usual daily pace. Pressplay's slowdown went further than theirs: on a normal day the catalog draws several times what it drew now, and the subscriber count held still.

Four uploads went up. Mloose's "Let Me Know" came first and has the biggest total so far. The two from September 27 are the ones with legs, though. A1 From The 9's "Brokey" is one, and Diesel HRB's "Lightwork Freestyle" is the other. That second title belongs to a series, and its older edition is still the busiest video on the channel: "(RR) Jooka x MBizz x Foreign Muli - Lightwork Freestyle", posted 26 days ago, is gaining views about as fast as the three-day-old ones.

The week also stepped outside London. Oga tizzy's "3am in Lagos" carries a Nigerian flag in its title. It drew a smaller crowd than the rest, a gentler start for a channel whose regulars mostly come for UK rap.
