An archive interview offers a different view of Nathalia Filgueiras from the emergency recordings: a young aviator describing how she earned her pilot's license while still in high school. The New York Post includes that footage in its report identifying her as the co-pilot of the Learjet that crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Filgueiras was 20. Correspondent Caitlyn Becker reports that at least nine people died in the crash near a mobile home park. The video opens with a distressing-content warning before showing dashcam footage of the impact, then plays radio transmissions in which Filgueiras reports an emergency, an overspeed condition and a rapid descent.
The report reached about 1.2 million views within eight hours, far beyond the channel's usual first-day audience for regular videos. Separate Post reports on the crash and its emergency audio also drew unusually large audiences. As we reported here, the radio exchange documents the crew's urgent efforts to communicate with air traffic control.
This upload adds material about the person behind those calls. Alongside photographs and flying clips, it returns to a CBS12 News interview and traces Filgueiras' aviation training, including her graduation from American Flyers flying school.
