Horrifying Dashcam Footage Shows Plane Going Down in West Palm Beach
"November 2 Bravo Delta, I'm here with you, talk to me." The air traffic controller's words are heard in the New York Post's report as a pilot describes a rapid descent and declares an emergency.
The clip combines radio recordings with dashcam footage of a Learjet 60 crashing beside a busy road in West Palm Beach on November 1. According to the Post's description, the aircraft was traveling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas with nine people aboard.
After an opening warning about distressing content, footage from a moving car shows an explosion beside the roadway, followed by rising black smoke. The report then plays the radio exchanges over a frozen image. The pilot reports an overspeed condition; after the transmission ends, the controller repeatedly tries to reestablish contact without receiving a response.
The report passed 450,000 views in its first six hours, far beyond the channel's usual start for short uploads.
The Post says the roadway was closed as emergency crews responded and an investigation began. The clip documents the emergency, but does not establish what caused the aircraft's descent.
